Ann Marie Blyth was born in Mount Kisco, New York, United States, on August 16, 1928, was an American actress and singer. Young Ann Blyth first started performing on children's radio shows in New York, at the age of five. She made her big screen debut in comedy musical film Chip Off the Old Block (1944) in role as Glory Marlow III. She got her television debut in NBC anthology series Lux Video Theatre (1954) in episode "A Place in the Sun", in role as Angela. Ann breakthrough performance came as Veda Pierce Forrester in melodrama noir film Mildred Pierce (1945). She landed her Broadway debut in a play "Watch on the Rhine" (1941-1942), in role as Babette Muller, at Martin Beck Theatre, at the age of 13.
